About Sarah

Hey there! I’m Sarah — a 23-year-old dance teacher, proud wife, and devoted dog mum to two very spoiled pups. I live in the beautiful South West of Western Australia, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Dance has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. What started as a childhood love affair with ballet slippers quickly became my entire world. I turned that lifelong passion into a career, earning my full teaching certifications and qualifying as an examiner through the CSTD (Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing).
I specialise in Ballet, but my teaching spans every genre — Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Hip Hop, Acrobatic Arts, and Musical Theatre. Whether I’m working with tiny dancers taking their first steps or advanced students preparing for exams, I bring the same energy and heart to every class.
My students will tell you I’m big on encouragement, laughter, and finding joy in every plié. I believe dance should be expressive, inclusive, and above all — fun. When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me exploring the South West with my husband and our two furry sidekicks.
Dance Genres
What I Teach
From classical ballet to street-style hip hop, I teach across every major dance genre. Each style brings something unique, and I love helping students discover where their passion lies.

Ballet
My core discipline and deepest passion. Classical technique, pointe work, and expressive artistry for all ages and levels. From first position to grand allegro — this is where my heart lives.

Jazz
High-energy, dynamic movement combining sharp technique with personal style. From lyrical jazz to commercial — it's all about attitude and expression.

Tap
Rhythmic footwork and musicality that builds incredible coordination, timing, and performance quality. There's nothing quite like the sound of a tap shoe.

Contemporary
Fluid, expressive movement that blends ballet technique with modern creative freedom. It's about storytelling through the body.
Lyrical
Emotionally driven dance that fuses ballet and jazz technique with storytelling through movement. Feel the music, tell the story.

Hip Hop
Street-style grooves and high-energy choreography in a fun, inclusive environment. All about confidence, creativity, and having a blast.
Acrobatic Arts
Combining dance with acrobatic elements — flexibility, tumbling, and strength-based tricks seamlessly integrated into dance performance.
Musical Theatre
Performance-focused dance combining acting, expression, and choreography inspired by stage and screen. Lights, camera, dance!

CSTD Examinations
Qualified Examiner
As a fully qualified examiner through the CSTD, I bring professional assessment and structured progression to dance studios across the South West.
What is the CSTD?
The Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD), also known as Comdance, is one of Australia’s most respected dance examination bodies. Founded in 1933, it provides structured syllabi and nationally recognised qualifications across Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, and more.
How Exams Work
Students prepare syllabus work with their teacher throughout the year, then are assessed by an external examiner. Each student receives a detailed written report and graded results — from Pass through to the highest level, Honours Plus (95%+). Exams are held annually and provide a wonderful goal for dancers to work towards.
Why Exams Matter
- Structured progression through internationally recognised levels
- Goal-setting and motivation for students of all ages
- Technical development with expert external feedback
- Confidence building through achievement and recognition
- Nationally recognised certification and qualifications

What I Can Examine
I’m qualified to examine across all CSTD genres and all levels — from Foundation and Elementary grades right through to Advanced, Teachers’ Certificate, and Teachers’ Diploma.
For Studio Owners
Looking for a qualified examiner for your dance school? I’m available to conduct CSTD examinations at studios across the South West WA region. Let’s chat about how we can support your students’ growth.
